Hockey Festival

2 Nov 25

In October, we spent the day out on the Astro celebrating hockey! Our Year 8 girls spent the morning getting specialised coaching with Adam from Chippenham Hockey Club. The girls had a blast and learned lots of new skills through drills and a match. We'd like to thank Adam for volunteering his time to share this exciting game with our students. There are plenty of opportunities to play hockey in school and also with the Chippenham Hockey Club. If any students would like to give it a go, the club is always looking for new members of all experience levels.

In the afternoon, our Sports Ambassadors helped support the Primary Quicksticks Festival. As hockey specialists, they helped support our young visitors by teaching them how to play and umpiring their matches. As always, they were excellent representatives of the school and we were delighted to see them share their love of the sport to the little ones!

Thank you to everyone involved in organising such a fun day of hockey!

Sheldon gave me confidence in my abilities and supported my ambitions. Going to a state school has many benefits over private in terms of real-world experience and being friends with a varied group of students. This has helped me in my life since school.
